Ben Affleck shocked fans back in May when he reunited with his ex-fiancé Jennifer Lopez seventeen years after they called off their engagement. Now, sources are coming forward to say that Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Lopez “can tell that he is “happy” with Lopez.
A source told Entertainment Tonight Garner, who was married to Affleck from 2005-2018 and has three children with him, sees that he is “happy.” This insider added that the Affleck and Lopez families are “getting along great” at this time.
“J.Lo and Ben’s families are getting along great and they are making an effort to take things slow when it comes to their kids,” the source explained. “[J.Lo] is so happy with Ben. He is so laid-back and chill and he makes her laugh nonstop. He is caring, sweet and supportive of her, but not competitive with her when it comes to their careers and fame.”
Affleck and Lopez spent the Fourth of July weekend in the Hamptons. The insider said that Lopez has “always loved” the area and “wanted Ben to experience it with her.”
“Ben just gets her and it’s nice and fun when they’re together,” added the source. “They have so much in common and it’s like they never ended their relationship years ago. They have picked up right where they left off.”
Lopez called off her engagement with baseball legend Alex Rodriguez back in April.
“ARod has been working on himself and taking care of himself,” a second source said. “He regrets some of his actions and feels like he messed things up with Jen, but he is doing his best to move on.”
Affleck and Lopez first started dating in 2002 and became engaged the next year, regularly making headlines in the tabloids at the time under the couple name “Bennifer.” They ended their engagement in January of 2004. Last month, an insider opened up further about what Garner thinks about them getting back together.
“Jen Garner is accepting of Ben and there is no animosity,” this source said. “As long as Ben stays on track and keeps the situation healthy, especially regarding the kids, then Jen is happy.”
