The singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson is currently in the middle of a divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock that she has admitted has been “horrible.” While interviewing the Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow this week, Clarkson revealed to the world that after her divorce, she does not plan to ever marry again.

“You’ve been married for two years,” Clarkson said. “Coming from someone who’s literally amidst a divorce, I can’t even imagine doing it again. So that’s amazing that you found love, and you found the space and the vulnerability—that level to say yes, and do it again. Was that hard for you?”

While Paltrow said that it was “probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” she added that her divorce and the gap years between marriages allowed her to reflect and learn what she needed to do to make a second marriage work.

“You will have it again, Kelly. It just takes time,” Paltrow said.

Though Clarkson is convinced she’ll never marry again, she was willing to listen to Paltrow’s advice about learning about one’s self after a divorce.

“I’m actually in that place where I think a lot of people, I’ve heard, that go through divorce, it’s almost like you start dating yourself again, like you actually make time for you again, and I love dating me,” she explained. “I’m actually not looking for it.”

This comes after Clarkson admitted that her divorce has been “horrible” for her.

“I’m going through one right now. It’s horrible,” she said of her divorce. “There are so many hard parts. The hardest for me is the kids. That’s the hardest for me. I think, as women especially, we’re trained… to take it all on, and you can deal with it, and you’re fine, but it’s your babies that you worry about.”

Clarkson and Blackstock share two young children together. Court documents came out at the end of last year confirming that Clarkson’s divorce had taken a nasty turn.

“The level of conflict between the parents has increased,” the documents stated. “The parties have a difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them.”

“Brandon’s been equally unreasonable in his requests for child and spousal support, as well as attorney fees,” a source told People Magazine. “Kelly’s offered to pay for all the kids’ expenses, but Brandon seems to think he is entitled to and needs $301K in spousal support and $135K in child support per month.”

If Blackstock gets his way, he’ll be getting $5.2 million per year from Clarkson.

“Additionally, he’s already asked for $2M for attorney fees when he’s the one driving up the cost of the divorce with seven attorneys just representing him alone,” the source continued.
