Actress Morgan Fairchild, a beloved actress who is best known for playing Chandler’s mom on “Friends,” is speaking out this week to reveal how she lost 30 pounds at 70 thanks to the keto diet.

“I have my fake oatmeal every morning and then salads. You know it’s a very specific diet. It’s not a hard diet… it’s just very specific,” Fairchild told Closer Weekly. “If you cheat at all, you don’t lose the weight… but I’ve been very disciplined.

She went on to say that she eats Ideal Protein meals and “starting dropping weight like crazy.”

‘It’s great because I don’t cook. I mean I really don’t cook. So it’s just pre-packaged foods,” Fairchild added. “I don’t have to cook for anybody and I don’t have to worry about getting a ton of groceries because I don’t eat. So I’m sticking to that and trying to lose more weight while we’re here in quarantine.”

The “Falcon Crest” star also said that she thinks she put on weight in the first place due to mold that was in her home.

“I went through this unfortunate thing where I had mold in my house and I blew up like a balloon,” she explained. “I had a lot of bronchial issues, which I knew were from the mold, but I had not realized that the weight gain was from the mold.”

It was only when she began to do research online that Fairchild realized mold was linked to weight gain.

‘I said, ‘Oh my God, unexplained weight gain!'” she said. “I never had a weight problem because I’m not an eater, I’m not a food person … so even once I realized what it was, I still didn’t know how to fix it.”

Fairchild finally was able to get the situation fixed after speaking to “a mold specialist,” and once that was under control, she shifted her attention to losing the weight she’d put on.

In her new interview, Fairchild also made the surprising revelation that her 69-year-old boyfriend Mark Seiler has been in a nursing home throughout the coronavirus lockdown.

“They’re taking very good care of him,” she said. “I talk to Mark a lot [on FaceTime]. It’s nice.”

Fairchild added that she can be seen acting in the new soap opera “Mélange,” airing on LOGOtv’s digital platforms, a program that she described as “high camp.”
