Dolly Parton Pays Touching Tribute to Tennessee National Guard for Relief Aid – ‘I Appreciate All of You’
Country music legend Dolly Parton spoke out over the weekend to offer a touching tribute to the Tennessee National Guard, which has been on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic in recent weeks.
Parton wanted to make sure that the National Guard felt the love from her as well, as they have been honored quite a bit in recent weeks with flyovers all over the country.
“Thank you to the @TNMilitaryDept and all of the volunteers in Tennessee and around the world helping bring aid to those in need during these difficult times,” Parton wrote. “We appreciate you!”

“We are the Volunteer State, and I appreciate all of you and I know everybody else does too,” Parton added in the video accompanying her tweet.
This comes one month after the singer announced that she would be stepping up to do her part by donating $1 million to help find a “cure” for COVID-19, encouraging her fans to pitch in and donate as well if they are able to. Parton also recently revealed on Instagram that a friend of hers who does research at Vanderbilt University has been giving her hope that they may be closer to a cure than many think they are.
“My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards that research of the coronavirus for a cure,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations.”
“Keep the faith,” Parton added.
Parton has tried to keep her fans’ spirits up in the weeks that millions of Americans have been on lockdown by posting various uplifting videos on social media. While so many other celebrities seem intent on politicizing this pandemic, Parton’s sole focus seems to be on helping her fans get through it.
We could certainly use more celebrities in the world like Ms. Dolly Parton.
