Over the weekend, we introduced you to a blind and autistic singer named Kodi Lee, who earned a Golden Buzzer from the “America’s Got Talent” judges when he brought the house down during his audition. Now, a new clip of Kodi has surfaced online that shows him performing a truly incredible rendition of the national anthem.

Kodi is being hailed as a musical prodigy because he has perfect pitch and an audio photographic memory, which means that he can remember music perfectly after hearing it only once. In the video below, you’ll see Kodi performing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner” for a pep rally at Elsinore High School. From this video, it’s clear that Kodi’s “America’s Got Talent” performance was no fluke. This kid is the real deal!

Francis Scott Key wrote the national anthem in 1814 during the War of 1812. British forces had just bombed Fort McHenry, but U.S. troops were still able to come out victorious in the ensuing battle. The next morning, Francis saw the American flag still flying over the fort, and the words to “The Star-Spangled Banner” immediately came to him.

“O! say can you see by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”

The United States officially made “The Star-Spangled Banner” our national anthem in 1931, and while it’s been performed many times since then, few have done it justice the way that Kodi did. Check out his unforgettable performance below!
