Lincoln Middle School athletes Scooter Terrien, Chase Vazquez, and Miles Rodriguez are known as the “three musketeers” in their town because of their unbreakable friendship. The trio of buddies recently won the Musial Award for Sportsmanship, but they didn’t win it for their skills on the basketball court. Instead, the boys won the award because of the amazing action they took to protect a young girl who suffers from Down syndrome when they saw her being bullied.

Scooter, Chase, and Miles spend most of the free time playing basketball together. Like most teenage boys, when they aren’t playing their favorite sport, they’re chasing girls. One girl who has stolen all three of their hearts is Desiree Andrews, a cheerleader who has Down syndrome. Though words sometimes fail Desiree, she loves to express herself through music and dance!

The three musketeers love Desiree’s happy personality, so when they noticed some bullies heckling her from the stands as she was cheerleading, they knew they had to do something. As their whole school looked on, the boys halted their game to take a stand for Desiree and teach the bullies a lesson that they will never forget.

What Scooter, Chase, and Miles did only took one moment, but Desiree and her parents will remember it for the rest of their lives! The boys’ own families also could not be more proud, as this confirmed they raised their sons right!
