Everyone has their own way of spreading Christmas cheer. Whether we make cookies and deliver them to our neighbors, go share the message of Christmas by singing Christmas carols, or in the case of one farm family, by writing an enormous message in the snow.
Over ten inches of snow had been dropped on the fields at Prunty Farms in North Dakota and one of the groups at the farm decided they would spread Christmas cheer in a very unique way. Farmer Dan had planned the message and the family had prayed that he would be able to complete his mission successfully.
He only had one chance to get it right, but they had faith that his years of experience and skill driving a tractor could easily pull off the feat. The group had decided to leave a message in the sparkling snow that would be seen by anyone from above.
Dan jumped on his tractor knowing that one mistake would ruin the plan. You can’t go back and fix snow once it’s already been pounded into the ground by a tractor wheel. Very carefully, he began driving his tractor in swirls and straight lines.
Another member of the family lifted a drone high into the sky, and caught the amazing feat as Farmer Dan completed his work, slowly but surely. Dan couldn’t see the work he was doing and was hoping for the best. He had spent hours planning out how to complete the task and only hoped that he was getting it right.
Driving around on two acres of land, Dan does a perfect job and the message is clear as can be as you’ll see on the footage the drone took. Written clearly in the snow for everyone to see is a bright and shining message.
The group had hoped that everyone would like the handy work of Farmer Dan, but they had no idea just how much people would like it. The masterpiece was created two years ago and went viral, but it keeps coming back around year after year for everyone to enjoy.
