The singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson is refusing to pay for the Montana ranch that is owned by her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. Instead, she will be paying 70% of her children’s school fees and expenses.

TMZ reported that while Clarkson is willing to pay for her two kids’ private schooling, she does not want to pay for Blackstock’s running costs for his Montana ranch. This week, a judge sided with Clarkson and upheld her terms on this.

The judge stated that Blackstock must carry the financial burden of his Montana ranch, which costs around $81,000 a month to run in expenses. Blackstock is reportedly living at the ranch and using it as his primary residence at this time.

Court documents show that Blackstock is earning around $10k a month, while Clarkson is earning around $1.5 million a month. As the divorce case continues, Clarkson will pay Blackstock $150,000 per month as well as $45,000 in child support. She’s been required to pay her her ex-husband a whopping $150,000 a month in spousal support since April 1st 2021.

Earlier this month, Clarkson asked the court to legally declare her to be single over one year after she filed for divorce from Blackstock in June of 2020. A source close to Clarkson recently said that she is having a difficult time dealing with the latest developments in her divorce proceedings.

“Kelly is dealing with all the emotions one can deal with concerning her divorce. She has been sad, angry, shocked and every emotion one can feel, she has felt it,” the insider said, according to Geo TV. “She never wanted it to get nasty, never wanted it to be a thing that she will have to deal with for a long time, but it is now a part of her everyday life.”

“She thinks it is crazy that she has to spend so much money in support. Her work is keeping her busy and away from it for a period of time in the day but it’s always in the back of her mind and it is clearly upsetting,” the source continued. “It is a very stressful and emotional time. We are almost certain to get some interesting music from it all.”
