Prince Charles and his younger brother Prince Andrew have reportedly had a fallen out in recent years as Charles tries to slim down the British monarchy, according to royal experts.

Andrew has been pushed into the background of the royal family ever since his disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview about his friendship with the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“How is it possible that we can’t hold this person accountable when we kind of know what the deal is?” questioned royal expert Molly Mulshine, referring to Andrew.

“It’s very confusing, I think whenever Charles takes the throne we will see some closure around this even if it’s just never really seeing Andrew again,” she added, according to The Express.

Other royal experts have said that a rift has come about between Charles and Andrew.

“Andrew became known in the media as ‘Airmiles Andy’ and would use the royal helicopter, not for royal engagements but to go and play golf in Scotland,” said royal expert Katie Nicholl.

“Charles was of the view that if you want to play around you do it separately from the family and you pay for it yourself,” added Dickie Arbiter, the former press secretary of Queen Elizabeth, Charles and Andrew’s mother.

The experts went on to say that Andrew was offended by the fact that only six members of the Royal Family appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee back in 2012. These family members were the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton and Prince Harry.

“This was something that Andrew found hard to accept,” said royal biographer Penny Junor, with Nicholl adding, “Andrew wants to be a part of those appearances and it’s certainly lead to a fallout.”

“There is real tension between Charles and Andrew,” she later continued. “Andrew has a very different relationship with his mother and the Queen was much more hands-on.”

Junor agreed with this assessment, saying, “I think the Queen has always had a bit of a blind spot when it comes to Prince Andrew.”

Paul Burrell, the former butler of the late Princess Diana, chimed in to add, “Andrew has always been the Queen’s favorite son and he has never done anything wrong in her eyes.”

Things got even worse between the brothers last year, when Charles blocked Andrew’s daughters from having roles within the Royal Family where they would represent the Queen. Nicholl said that Charles had told Beatrice and Eugenie to “go and make it on their own”.

“What happened with Beatrice and Eugenie was problematic as well because their father wanted them to have a role within the Royal Family where they are representing the Queen,” she said. “Eugenie and Beatrice wanted to help granny but they also wanted to have jobs. Of course then you are in a sticky situation, again it’s half in half out.”

“It was Charles who swept in and said much to Andrew’s annoyance they have got to go and make it on their own,” Nicholl continued. “Beatrice and Eugenie were very happy to do that and it is working but you still see that knock-back effect. So when we are picking up the bill as taxpayers for the security costs for Eugenie’s wedding people were asking why because she is not a full time working royal.”
