Some human remains were found near the California mansion of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry this week.

Santa Barbara sheriffs officials told the Daily Mail that the bones are “very old” and date back more than 10,000 years. They were found just a few yards away from Meghan and Harry’s $15 million Montecito complex during landscaping construction last week on a road next to it.

Officials said that the remains appeared to be of a “young adult” person, and preliminary findings from a forensic anthropologist brought in to help out investigators stated that the bones were likely from the Chumash people, who lived in the area for nearly 11,000 years.

“Until we have an official opinion from the forensic anthropologist, we’re not going to be saying one way or the other,” said a spokesperson for the police department.

Police have also been talking to the local Native American commission to figure out what to do if the bones are confirmed to belong to an indigenous person.

There has been much drama involving Meghan and Harry’s mansion in Southern California since they moved in last year. We previously reported that between when Meghan and Harry moved in back in July until the first week of April, police were called to their residence nine times in those nine months alone.

In the first month that Meghan and Harry were living in the home, police were called to the mansion four times during the early morning hours. One of the calls was listed as a phone request, and the other three were labeled “alarm activations.”

An August call to police was listed as a“Misc Priority Incident,” while there was another alarm call in November. Police were called again to the mansion at 4:13 p.m. on Christmas Eve after a man allegedly trespassed on the property. The sheriff’s office said that a 37-year-old man was booked into jail on a misdemeanor trespassing charge and later released.

Just two days later, officers were called at 2:54 p.m., which was listed under “Property Crimes.” Police were most recently called to the mansion at 2:21 a.m. on Feb. 16, according to the report.

Harry and Meghan moved into the ritzy mansion after stepping down as senior royals last year. Their famous neighbors there include Oprah Winfrey and Rob Lowe.
