Last week, we reported that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have allegedly rekindled their romance seventeen years after breaking off their engagement in front of the entire world. Now, new reports are coming in indicating that their romance is heating up in a big way.

“Jen really enjoyed her trip to Montana and is really loving Ben’s friendship,” a source told US Weekly, referring to the romantic getaway Lopez and Affleck took to Montana a week ago. The insider added that Lopez “isn’t trying to rush into anything romantic” after her split, but she’s “still in contact” with Affleck after their brief vacation.

“[She] has feelings for Ben. They are taking it slowly, but things are moving in a romantic direction,” the source explained. “She is focused on her kids and she’s working in Miami.”

Affleck and Lopez began dating in 2002, and by the time they became engaged a year later, their relationship was being covered by the tabloids nonstop. It came as a shock when they split in January of 2004.

Sources told TMZ that it was Affleck who reinitiated contact with Lopez in February of this year, when he penned an email to her about “how beautiful she looked” in photos of her filming the upcoming movie Shotgun Wedding. Affleck sent the email after photos leaked to the press showing Lopez filming wedding scenes for the film in the Dominican Republican.

Affleck also reportedly said in the email that he wishes he could have been in the Dominican Republic too, but was filming The Tender Bar in Boston with George Clooney. The two reportedly stayed in contact via email until Lopez returned home to the states at the end of April after filming was completed.

“They have a lot of love for each other. They have always admired each other,” a source recently said.

Another source said that Lopez is loving rekindling her romance with Affleck.

“[Jennifer] is in touch with Ben every day,” a source recently told People Magazine. “They are making plans to see each other. Jennifer is still very excited about how things are going with Ben.”
