Earlier today, we reported that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have allegedly rekindled their romance seventeen years after breaking off their engagement in front of the entire world. Now, Affleck’s good friend Matt Damon has broken his silence to address these rumors.
While appearing on the “Today” show on Tuesday morning, Damon was asked about the reports involving Affleck and Lopez.
“There’s not enough liquor in the world for you to get me to say something about that,” he joked when asked about the situation by hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie.
Damon went on to admit that it’s a “fascinating story.”
“I love them both. I hope it’s true. That would be awesome,” he said.

This comes after Daily Mail released photos of Affleck and Lopez vacationing together in Montana this past weekend. They were seen getting off a private jet before driving off in an SUV that was driven by Affleck with Lopez in the passenger seat.
Sources told TMZ that Affleck and Lopez stayed at the luxury Big Sky Resort and had flown out of Bozeman, Montana to the Signature terminal at LAX on Sunday.
“Ben and Jen spent several days together in Montana,” a source told Us Weekly. “It was just the two of them on vacation together. Big Sky is a special place to Ben.”
The insider went on to say that they “looked very happy together” on the trip.
This comes just one month after Lopez ended her engagement to former MLB player Alex Rodriguez, who she had been dating for four years. Affleck has been single since January, since he split from actress Ana de Armas.
Sources told TMZ that it was Affleck who reinitiated contact with Lopez in February of this year, when he penned an email to her about “how beautiful she looked” in photos of her filming the upcoming movie Shotgun Wedding. Affleck sent the email after photos leaked to the press showing Lopez filming wedding scenes for the film in the Dominican Republican.
Affleck also reportedly said in the email that he wishes he could have been in the Dominican Republic too, but was filming The Tender Bar in Boston with George Clooney. The two reportedly stayed in contact via email until Lopez returned home to the states at the end of April after filming was completed.
“They have a lot of love for each other. They have always admired each other,” a source recently said.
