While on the red carpet for VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World this past weekend, the supermodel Chrissy Teigen opened up about her hilarious plans to hang out with Meghan Markle.

Teigen was a special guest at the event, which Meghan and her husband Prince Harry served as co-chairs for. On the red carpet, Teigen talked about getting in touch with Meghan, who is a new friend of hers.

“I feel like our world has just gotten so small, through this whole pandemic and everything,” Teigen said. “We have to go to Montecito and chill in the chicken house. Archie’s Cluckin’ Hut?”

“They’re so wonderful for co-chairing this,” Teigen added. “This is obviously such an incredibly important event that I’m so happy to be a part of.”

This comes a month after Teigen revealed that she and Meghan had connected over the fact that they have both suffered miscarriages. Teigen lost her unborn son Jack when she was 20 weeks pregnant last September, and Meghan revealed to the world last summer that she had suffered a miscarriage.

“She’s been so kind to me ever since we connected on– she had written me about baby Jack and loss, but yeah,” Teigen said in April, according to Entertainment Tonight. “She is really wonderful and so kind, and just as kind as everyone says she is.”

As for the coronavirus pandemic, Teigen said, “Let’s get this s**t over with!”

“We want to tell people to get vaccinated, plain and simply, this event is just something to celebrate not only these frontline workers that are able to come see and watch this event, but also be able to tell people to get this vaccine and that it’s safe and it’s something that is going to let us get back to our normal lives,” she continued. “And we can hug people again and kiss and cook food and have brunch and do the silly things we miss so much. It’s a step toward that.”

While Meghan did not attend the VAX Live event due to the fact that she is currently about seven months pregnant with her second child, she did send in a video message.

“The past year has been defined by communities coming together tirelessly and heroically to tackle COVID-19. And we’ve gathered tonight because the road ahead is getting brighter, but it’s going to take every one of us to find our way forward,” Meghan said. “As campaign chairs of VAX LIVE, my husband and I believe it’s critical that our recovery prioritizes the health, safety and success of everyone, and particularly women who have been disproportionately affected by this pandemic. Women, and especially women of color, have seen a generation of economic gain wiped out. Since the pandemic began, nearly 5.5 million women have lost work in the U.S., and 47 million more women around the world are expected to slip into extreme poverty.”

“My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter. It’s a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world,” she added. “When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward.”
