During an interview with late night host Seth Meyers on Thursday night, the singer Gwen Stefani revealed that she’s planning to keep things “very simple” with her upcoming wedding to country music star Blake Shelton.

“We’re keeping it very simple. Really simple,” Stefani said. “I think the guest list will not have a lot of musicians. It’ll be like my mom and my dad. It’s literally going to be just family. We are looking forward to that, though.”

“It’s going to be fun,” she continued. “We’re going to make it really fun, but it’s not going to be a big [event]. It’s not like the queen and king are getting married or something like that.”

While Shelton had previously said that he wanted their friend Adam Levine to perform at their wedding, Stefani said that they likely won’t have a band at all.

“I definitely would love to have Adam sing at our wedding. But the thing is, I feel like we’re not going to have a wedding band,” she said. “I feel like we’re just going to go with a playlist.”

During this same interview, Meyers complained that Stefani and Shelton announced their engagement back in October just one day after appearing on his show.

“We got engaged about a week before that,” Stefani told him. “Blake was like, ‘Let’s not tell anyone. Let’s just make it ours for a minute.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, of course.'”

“I was dying to tell everybody. I knew I was going to be on your show and I felt really guilty actually,” she confessed. “We were really excited to share it. It was fun to kind of hold on to the secret for a week.”

“Blake was like, ‘Wait, when are you going to tell people?’ I’m like, ‘You’re the one that said not to tell anyone!'” Stefani added. “So anyways, here we are. We’re getting married!”

Shelton has previously said that he “absolutely” pictures himself living a simpler life with Stefani someday, out of the spotlight.

“I hope that’s not too far down the road. Ten years sounds like way too long to me,” Shelton said. “I’d like to see that sooner than later. I mean, we’ve both pretty much taken it to the limit as far as our careers go, and touring and now the television thing. It’s been fortunate to accomplish a lot of things, but hopefully at some point we’ll get a chance to live some life. And I think we’re both ready for that, honestly.”

“The older I get, the more I kind of feel like I’m starting to turn into a little bit of a hermit,” he added. “You know, and just kind of passing on things.”
