Weeks after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave their explosive tell-all interview about the royal family to Oprah Winfrey, they are being slammed by Monaco’s Prince Albert.
Albert told BBC World News that he found Meghan and Harry’s “public display of dissatisfaction” to be inappropriate given the form in which it was delivered. Albert said that while he “can understand the pressure that they were under,” he said that “these types of conversations should be held within the intimate quarters of the family” and “it doesn’t really have to be laid out in the public sphere like that.”
“It did bother me a little bit,” he said of the interview. “I can understand where they’re coming from in a certain way, but I think it wasn’t the appropriate forum to be able to have these kinds of discussions.”

Despite that, Albert said that he wished Harry “the best.”
“It’s a difficult world out there, and I hope that he can have the judgment and wisdom to make the right choices,” he said.
During their interview, Meghan also claimed that she was hit with racism from within the royal family, claiming that an unnamed senior royal questioned how dark her then-unborn son Archie’s skin would be. Harry refused to name this family member, only saying that it was neither Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Philip. Meghan also claimed that she felt so isolated as a royal that she considered committing suicide at one point during her pregnancy.
The royal family responded two days later in a brief statement released by Buckingham Palace.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the royal family said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
When asked about the interview by a reporter last week, Prince William replied, “We are very much not a racist family. I haven’t spoken to [Harry] yet, but I will do.”
