The sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un spoke out this week to issue a truly chilling warning to the United States,  saying that the nation should not “cause a stink” as President Joe Biden prepares his policies on Korea.

BBC reported that Kim Yo Jong went on state media to slam both the U.S. and South Korea for conducting joint military exercises. This comes one day before American officials are scheduled to arrive in Seoul, and the U.S. government has claimed that it has spent weeks trying to make contact with North Korea. Pyongyang has yet to acknowledge Biden’s presidency in any way.

“A word of advice to the new administration of the United States that is struggling to spread the smell of gunpowder on our land from across the ocean,” Kim Yo Jong said. “If it wants to sleep in peace for [the] coming four years, it had better refrain from causing a stink at its first step.”

She went on to double down on North Korea’s opposition to the joint military exercises, which the hermit country sees as preparations for an invasion.

“The South Korean government yet again chose the ‘March of War’, the ‘March of Crisis,'” she said.

Kim Yo Jong is the younger sister of Kim Jong Un, and she has been his favored attack dog for the past few years. Biden has already announced that a policy review of North Korea is taking place in his administration, and it is expected to be unveiled later this month.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki told the press on Monday the Biden administration has tried to reach out to North Korea, saying that they have “a number of channels, as we always have had, that we can reach out through,” according to CNN.

“Diplomacy is always our goal. Our goal is to reduce the risk of escalation. But, to date, we have not received any response,” Psaki said, going on to add that the outreach “follows over a year without active dialogue with North Korea, despite multiple attempts by the US to engage.”

Biden referred to Kim Jong Un as a “thug” during his election campaign. It remains to be seen if North Korea will be willing to cooperate with his administration in any way.
