Anyone who has sisters know that it can be very difficult to please them when they get jealous. They’ve grown up with you, and while they can be supportive, they also sometimes expect you to stay the way that you have always been.

The woman in the video below learns this the hard way, as her jealous sisters have some difficulty accepting it when she gets a drastic makeover that takes decades off of the way that she looks.

As the woman was preparing for her daughter’s wedding, she wanted to make a physical change to the look that she’d had for many years. That’s how she ended up at the Minneapolis, Minnesota salon of Christopher Hopkins, who is better known as “The Makeover Guy!”

Christopher specializes in giving women over the age of 45 a new lease on life with his epic makeovers, so the woman knew that she would be in good hands.

”The whole mission is to uplift behavior through beauty,” Christopher said in the trailer video for his YouTube channel. “How you present yourself: how you speak, how you walk, how you talk, how you present yourself to the world.”

Christopher admitted that when the woman arrived at the salon with her two sisters in tow for support, he struggled a bit at first.

“This one was special,” he confessed. “I had trouble understanding the back story and the reason for the makeover. Usually that helps me figure out what is going to work for them. I managed to put the pieces together. But communication can be a challenge. This is what really goes on behind the makeover. Which is why it’s more than just a haircut and makeup.”

The woman finally explained that she wanted a makeover for her daughter’s wedding, and that she just wanted to feel “really good about myself.” Christopher knew just what to do with her by then, cutting her hair and doing her makeup in a way that made her look far younger than her age.

The woman looked incredible by the time Christopher was done with her, which is why so many viewers were so disappointed to see her sisters’ reactions, which left something to be desired.

“The sisters were speechless because now this sister’s hairstyle is fresh, hip & cuter than their own!” one user commented, with another adding, “She really looks great! But my heart totally sank at their reaction. I was yelling at my computer screen ‘Christopher … you rocked this!’”

“A lifetime of mean put downs visible in one underwhelming reaction. She looks lovely,” a third user wrote, with a fourth writing, “Hopefully the makeover boosted her self confidence and self worth. From the reactions of her sisters, I doubt she’s had much of a support system most of her life.”
