The study concluded that the sticky, sweet treat has a significant positive impact on cognitive performance, and if consumed regularly, chocolate can improve abstract thinking and memory. The study revealed that when people ate chocolate cake every morning, it helps them work more efficiently.
Another conclusion of the study was that eating chocolate cake regularly in the morning can help aid weight loss. How is that possible you might ask? Your brain needs energy immediately when it wakes up in the morning. Your body is more likely to convert morning food into energy so that piece of cake won’t end up on your waist line.
Scientists also say that eating a high-calorie breakfast, like chocolate cake, helps reduce cravings that pop up throughout the day, and it might even help reduce late-night snacking habits.
What in chocolate makes it so beneficial to our health? It contains a plant-based food called flavonoids that is highly concentrated in cocoa beans. Flavonoids are also found in high quantities in wine. A coincidence? A study about chocolate and wine is one most of us would gladly sign up for!
