Rachel Sullivan was surprised when Instagram suggested she might be interested in following an account created by her husband, Tom Sullivan. It was an account Rachel had no idea existed. The handle of the account is what really confused Rachel. Speak to TODAY, Rachel shares:

“It said ‘Tom Sullivan @MealsSheEats,’ and I was like, ‘Who is this ‘she’?'”

When she clicked on the account, Rachel was shocked by what she saw. All the pictures posted were of the meals and recipes Tom has been making for her over the past year in an attempt to help his wife naturally regulate her hormones, in their pursuit of conceiving and growing their family.

“I went to the doctor for a checkup and my hormone levels came back all whacked out and I had cysts near my ovaries,” Rachael explained. “That’s when I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. They recommend you do a gluten- and dairy-free diet, and Tom just went full force into it.”

Her husband was already a quite a talent in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking up new dishes. When Rachel received her diagnosis, he lovingly devoted all his time and energy into researching and understanding what they could do to manage it. One of the books he read is called the “Woman Code” by Alyssa Viti, and it outlines how the food a woman eats at different times throughout her cycle can help naturally regulate her hormones.

He created the Instagram account to keep track of the meals he makes so he can recreate them again, basing everything off of how a woman’s nutritional needs vary depending on where she is in her monthly cycle.

The couple has been married for four years and recently moved to North Carolina. Rachel made a TikTok video detailing Tom’s Instagram account and their fertility journey, and it has since gone viral, causing Tom’s followers to jump from just 69 to over 10,000 in a matter of days. The video even garnered celebrity attention, with Matthew McConaughey reposting the video to his page.

Rachel says that if she ever become pregnant, she’s certain that Tom will then switch his focus to all the foods an expectant woman should eat. Until they, they will continue following the plan outlined in the “Woman Code.” At the end of her TikTok video, Rachel has these sweet words to say about her loving husband:

“I literally love this man so much. And there’s nothing I want more in life than to just have his babies.”

“Tom knows more about menstrual cycles than most women do,” Rachael joked. “And, I’m six months regulated right now, which is super exciting.”
