“Little House On The Prairie” has been off the air for nearly forty years, but it is still known for being one of the most wholesome shows of all time. That’s why it came as a shock to fans when Melissa Gilbert, who starred on the show as Laura Ingalls Wilder, revealed some intimate details about her sex life with her ex-boyfriend Rob Lowe.

In her memoir “Prairie Tale,” Gilbert revealed that she and Lowe metering a taping of “The Dinah Shore Show,” with him staying in the hallway just so he could meet her. Gilbert described him in her book as “cute, sweet, and funny,”  adding that he was so attractive that he was “almost pretty.”

After their first date, Gilbert immediately fell head over heels in love with Lowe.

“All I remember is that I felt like I got hit in the head with a brick,” wrote Gilbert. “I fell instantly, hopelessly, and stupidly in love.”

Much to the surprise of her fans, Gilbert went so far as to reveal that Lowe “wouldn’t let” her close her eyes during sex.

“I was starving for Rob,” Gilbert wrote of their sexual escapades. “I wanted to bite him.”

She remembers having sex with Lowe for the first time on her mouth’s couch as “Saturday Night Live” was playing on the television.

“He was sweet and intense,” Gilbert wrote. “He wouldn’t let me close my eyes. He made me look right into his eyes the whole time. It was profound.”

Because Gilbert still lived with her parents, Lowe would often sneak into her bedroom at night so that they could be intimate.

Lowe and Gilbert would eventually become engaged, but they ended up breaking up before they could walk down the aisle. Gilbert claims that Lowe dumped her after finding out that she was pregnant with his kid. She was so heartbroken and stressed over the breakup that she ended up miscarrying the baby.

“I had lost the baby and my relationship with Rob,” wrote Gilbert. “Now I was completely, totally alone, and it hurt like hell.”

Just seven weeks after their split, Gilbert married Bo Brinkman, who she stayed married to for six years before divorcing him in 1994. She married her current husband Timothy Busfield in 2013, and Lowe has been with his wife Sheryl Berkhoff since 1991.
