Last week, we reported that former “Fuller House” star Candace Cameron Bure had explained that her “mama bear” instincts came out when she fired back at haters who were attacking her family over a Christmas photo of them that she had posted online. Now, Bure is doubling down to tell these internet trolls to “keep your mouth shut.”

“You know, people forget that — yes, I’m a celebrity — but I’m a real person,” Bure, 44, explained to E!’s Daily Pop. “I was simply sharing a family Christmas card. And it’s so strange to me that people have the audacity to write horrible and negative comments. Like, you would never say that to someone’s face.”

Bure went on to add that she feels that it was important for her to take a stand.

“It was more about a reminder, like, I’m sharing the best of what I believe my family is on a Christmas card, so keep your mouth shut,” she said. “If you don’t like it, just scroll on.”

Bure initially defended herself in the comments section of the Christmas photo that she posted.

“Wow — I post a family photo and you all find everything you don’t like about it or can make fun of. Do better than that. Please,” she said.

She then penned a Facebook post calling for people to be kinder to one another.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re 10 or 90 years old, rude is rude,” she said. “Be better than that. I’m praying for humanity. Manners and respect. If you don’t like something, just move on,” the 44-year-old actress explained in part. “There are people and real feelings behind every screen.”

Bure refused to ever back down, saying that it was the “mama bear” in her that made her defend her family when they were being attacked.

“Mama bear, that’s what happened,” Bure told Extra. “Listen, on social media, everyone gets criticized, and if you are a celebrity, it just comes with the territory and I can handle it, but the second someone starts to criticize my children or say negative things like that, mama bear comes out. I just had to remind people that there are real people with real feelings behind the screen and I’m not posting for your negativity.”

“In that instance, I was simply sharing a family photo that was so beautiful to me,” she added. “Even a hint of people criticizing my family picture I wasn’t going to take.”
