A woman in Maine who had been pulled over for speeding recently took to social media to reveal the surprising act of kindness the police officer carried out for her during this traffic stop.

Briana Corriveau panicked a little bit when she realized she was being pulled over for speeding, as many of us would. In her rush to pull over to the side of the road, Corriveau ran over the curb and popped a tire. The situation was made all the more stressful because Corriveau was on break from work, and she needed to get back to her job as soon as possible.

When Officer Aaron Paradis realized what had happened, he immediately ripped up the ticket. He then called a tow truck himself and personally drove Corriveau back to work, much to her surprise! Things only got better when Corriveau returned to her vehicle and shockingly found that Paradis had paid for the tire and repairs.

“He calls me a tow truck, rips up my ticket and drives me in his cruiser to VIP to meet my car,” she wrote on Facebook. “When we walk in he tells the guy at the counter that I need a new tire and so on. I went to the bathroom then came back out. He brought me back to work. I sat in the cruiser thanking him a million times and telling him sorry for speeding and causing this BS…”

“When I went back to VIP the guy at the counter told me I was all set. I was baffled because he told me that the officer had given him his name and number and told VIP to call him when my car was finished. He paid not only for the tire I popped but my drivers side also!” Corriveau added. “This officer has no clue what he had done for me that day. I am so thankful for him and his act of kindness. I wish wonderful things to come your way. You restored my faith in man kind during these hard times.”

Corriveau later doubled down on her gratitude in an interview with reporters.

“He has no clue what he just did for me, I’m a single mom, and I work an hour away because I lost my job because of COVID, he has no clue, I’m baffled,” Corriveau told WABI.

Paradis’ fellow officers were not surprised by what he did, however.

“He did this out of really the goodness of his heart. He’s just one of those individuals who really cares about the community and the people that he serves,” said Augusta Police Department Chief Jared Mills.

These days, it often seems like only negative stories about police officers make the news. We’re glad to see a story going viral that shows how kind police officers really are!
