Queen Elizabeth just got some much needed good news when it was announced that her beloved granddaughter Zara Tindall is pregnant with her third child.

Zara, 39, is expecting her third child with her husband of nine years, Mike Tindall. The couple are already parents to daughters Mia, 6, and Lena, 2. A source told Entertainment Tonight that the Queen, 94, is “aware and delighted at Mike Tindall and Zara’s happy news.”

Mike, 42, dropped the news that he was about to become a father of three during an episode of his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, saying that he’ll “run out of arms” when the new bundle of joy arrives.

“It’s been a good week for me. [We] had a little scan last week [and a] third Tindall [is] on its way,” he said, going on to joke that he and his wife are considering names like Covey and Covina.

“She’s very good,” Mike added of Zara. “Always careful because of things that happened in the past.”

Since he is already the father of two daughters, Mike made no secret of the fact that he would love this third baby to be a boy.

“We’re really looking forward to it. I’d like a boy this time. I’ve got two girls,” he said. “I would like a boy, but I will love [the baby] whether [it’s] a boy or a girl… but please be a boy!”

Mike went on to say that though they have not told their girls the good news yet, he’s sure they’ll be very excited.

“We haven’t told Mia yet, because we knew she’d tell everyone at school,” he admitted. “… I think she’ll be happy about it. She’s been requesting another sister or brother, so we’ve hopefully fulfilled that role for her.”

“She just wants something different now,” he continued. “Lena’s growing up, she’s two-and-a-half now, [so Mia] wants something younger to play with and dress up.”

This will undoubtedly be some much-appreciated good news for the Queen during a difficult time. Earlier this week, she was forced to cancel her Christmas plans due to COVID-19, announcing that she would not be spending the holiday at her Sandringham estate for the first time in 32 years. Instead, the Queen will be spending Christmas at Windsor Castle, where she has been isolating for the past few months amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
