Singer Kelly Clarkson was just spotted publicly for the first time since filing for divorce from her husband of nearly seven years, Brandon Blackstock, and fans immediately noticed that she was not wearing her wedding ring.

Clarkson was photographed on Friday taking her dog for a walk in her neighborhood in Los Angeles, California.

“Kelly is spending time in L.A. with her kids,” a source told People magazine of “The Voice” judge, who is the mother of daughter River, 6, and son Remington, 4, with Blackstock.

“She has been low-key and mostly stayed at home,” the source added of Clarkson. “She seems to be doing okay.”

Sources close to Clarkson and Blackstock have expressed their shock about their divorce.

“It came out of nowhere,” one insider told E! News. “It’s all so sad for the kids. They were always such a loving family. It never seemed like they had any issues.”

Another source close to Clarkson’s daytime talk show added, “Brandon was around all the time on almost all show days and they were very loving towards one another. They drove home from set together every night.”

A different source described the split as “quite shocking,” adding that those who know the couple personally “have been texting each other over their disbelief that the couple is splitting.”

This comes after a friend of the couple told Entertainment Tonight that it was really quarantine that did the marriage in.

“Kelly and Brandon had been having problems for several months and were making a conscious effort to work things out. They both hoped quarantining away from L.A. in Montana would help them work things out in their marriage, but instead the change in environment was actually detrimental,” the source said.

“The constant time together seemed to make an already challenging situation worse,” the insider continued, adding that Clarkson’s career “definitely helped to keep her mind off things, but this recent downtime gave her the time she needed to think about her life and her marriage.”

In the end, Clarkson and Blackstock seem determined to keep the divorce amicable for the sake of their children.

“Kelly and Brandon haven’t cut each other off; they are still talking to one another. They are both heartbroken, but their plan is to put the kids first,” the source continued. “Their focus is on co-parenting and moving forward, as this is the last place they ever thought they would be. They both understand divorce is never easy for children, but Kelly and Brandon are great parents. It’ll just take time.”
