A controversial article that made a series of negative claims about Kate Middleton has since been found to have been written by a journalist with ties to Meghan Markle.

We reported last week that journalist Anna Pasternak wrote a piece for Tatler  in which she claimed that Kate feels “exhausted and trapped.” She also alleged that the rift between Kate and Meghan began when they sparred over whether Princess Charlotte should wear tights at the latter’s wedding to Prince Harry.

Kensington Palace fired back after the publication of this article, which was called “Catherine The Great,” by saying it was full of “‘a swathe of inaccuracies and false representations.” Palace officials have since sent a legal letter to the magazine demanding that the article be removed, with Tatler sticking to their guns by saying the complaint “has no merit.”

It has since been revealed that Pasternak is close friends with former Tatler journalist Vanessa Mulroney, who is the sister-in-law of Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney.

“Pasternak’s article caused immense unnecessary pain for Kate and its central claim that she felt trapped and unhappy was wildly untrue,” a source told The Sun. “Pasternak is sticking to her story and saying her sources are good. She is very well connected in the US. She is friends with Vanessa Mulroney who used to work at Tatler and now lives in Canada.”

“And Vanessa’s sister-in-law Jessica is Meghan’s best friend,” the insider continued. “It’s intriguing.”

Jessica Mulroney has long been known to be Meghan’s closest friend, and court papers have indicated that the royal has asked her to intervene in the past to have journalists write more favorable stories about her.

Pasternak’s Tatler article quoted an alleged insider who claimed that Kate resented Meghan and Harry for leaving the royal family earlier this year, saying that her workload has become overwhelming and affected the amount of time she can spend with her three children.

“William and Catherine really wanted to be hands-on parents and the Sussexes have effectively thrown their three children under a bus,” the insider said, adding that Harry and Meghan were “so selfish” for making this decision, as it will change Kate and William’s family life for years to come.

“There goes their morning school runs as the responsibilities on them now are enormous,” the source said. “Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”
