Forget the whole “Homeward Bound” where the animals worry that they’ve been left for good, and go on a treacherous journey to find their way back home through the California wilderness.
This dog was not about that life, he stayed right where he was left and he waited for his owners to come back. Breaks your heart. The stray dog waited for four years for his owner to return at the exact spot where the pet jumped from a moving truck.
Here’s the story:
Anuchit Uncharoen drove down a highway in Roi-Et, Thailand. The kind soul stopped to check on the dog and was told by the locals that the pup had been sitting there for the last four years.
Local Saowaluck Pinnuvech, said that she found the dog at that spot in early 2016. She said, “I found this dog since 2016, back then he was so skinny and he had skin lesions. She added, “I rode a motorcycle past this road and saw him everyday for a week, so I asked the people about his owner and the locals told me that he was a stray dog.”
Pinnuvech said, “I took him to the vet and adopted him myself and named him Leo, but after a couple of days he was missing from the house and I found him at this spot again so I let him stay here and have been coming to feed him everyday.”
Uncharoen shared Leo’s story online, which got the original owners attention.
Owner Noi Sittisarn, said that her dog Bong Bong aka Leo had gone missing after jumping down from her pickup truck in 2015. She continued, “I was traveling on this road but then I noticed that Bong Bong was missing from the trunk. Me and my husband drove around to find him but we did not find him and we did not know where he could be.”
When Sittisarn was reunited with the dog this past September, Leo got excited and let her rub his head — but he didn’t want to go home with her. She thought he just needed to get used to her again so she figured she’d come back the next day and all would be good. Later that night Pinnuvech called Sittisarn sobbing over the fact that she had become attached to Leo.
Sittisarn said, she was more than happy to let the dog stay with Pinnuvech. She added, “Due to her good care of the dog I believed she and the dog will be happy together, but I would like her to keep the dog in her house.”
