Just days after she got engaged to her boyfriend Chris Marek, “Little People Big World” star Amy Roloff is in mourning following the death of her beloved mother, 86 year-old Patricia Knight.

“I am so sad about my mom’s passing but comforted by all the memories I have and that she lived a happy, long life with my father,” Amy said in a brief statement. “She was a great mom. Thank you for all the condolences and well wishes. Life is a gift, appreciate the moments in each day.”

Though the specific details of Patricia’s death are not known at this time, it has been confirmed that her grieving family will be celebrating her memory at a local Michigan funeral home on October 24.

Though Amy has not addressed her mother’s death on social media, she hinted at it in a post to Instagram on Monday.

“It’s been a tough week after hearing sad news,” she wrote. “But these two – my grand kids Jackson and Ember – always make me smile and melt my heart. ?❤️. Simply, Love them so much. #grandkids #imthankful #imblessed #amyroloffssecondact love being a grandma!”

Amy had revealed to her fans months ago that Patricia was not doing well and that she would be returning to her home state of Michigan to spend time with her family.

“From Souix Falls SD to Going ‘home’ to see my parents,” she wrote. “My mom isn’t doing so well and I need to see them. Every moment is precious the older I get and the older they get. ❤️ Like the old days, I’m going to make dinner for them. This Michigan girl is coming home.”

This comes after Amy revealed that Chris, her boyfriend of three years, proposed to her on September 18. She did not hesitate to say yes and agree to marry him.

“I’m excited, I’m so surprised, I’m thrilled,” she said at the time. “I never in a million years thought I’d be getting married again, but I also hoped for it! Now that it’s happening, I couldn’t be happier or more excited.”

My trips to Michigan now, ever since I left and moved to get married 31 years ago, are about moments I can cherish and take back w/ me to Oregon. It’s like having a little piece of Michigan with me all the time. ?????. This time the moments meant so much more- maybe because I’m not so sure when the next time I’ll get to share a day, a conversation, a meal … w/ my Mom and Dad. As I get older and look back and see how much time has gone by to how many days I have to look forward to – not so much the # of days but more in being sure I’m grateful for the moment I have right now. I’m so thankful I just got to hang out w/ my parents, and just be with them. I loved that Chris was by my side and able to come out again and share in the moment and hang out w/ me too. Sharing, gathering, thankful for now. ❤️? Moments, no matter what goes on or happens in your life, good and bad, happy or unhappy, I think there is always room to gather… to love, have hope, know Joy, forgiveness, embrace, agree, disagree, love more… to make meaningful moments. Because they matter, have value and purpose in our life. I’m thankful I got to make more moments with my mom and dad to bank in my memory and Chris was w/ me. ❤️?❤️ My mom is hanging in there. She’s still able to get around a little – she’s determined and her mind is strong but her body is weak. Just try to take time to appreciate moments everyday before they slip away. Love to you all ?❤️?❤️? #amyroloffssecondact #michigangirl #lovemyfamily #travelswithamyandchris
