A cat with a majestic mane of fur has become a viral sensation and is being described as “part lion, part wolf and part human.”

Vivo is a three-year-old Maine Coon who has become a viral star ever since his owner started sharing photos of him online two years ago, and he now has over 10,000 followers. He lives in Guangzhou, China with his owners, Robert and Izabella Sijka. Many have said that Vivo looks like “royalty” because of his majestic appearance.

“If a royal bloodline exists for domestic cats, Vivo is their King,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “I would follow this regal beast into battle anywhere.”

“Vivo has only meowed once. The spontaneous impregnation of every female cat in a ten mile radius followed,” a third user commented, with another saying, “He looks like someone coming straight from CATS dress rehearsal.”

Vivo is believed to be a “black smoke Maine Coon” because of the way his fur looks. Maine Coons are known for being one of the oldest natural breeds in North America after being established more than a century ago. Recognized as the state animal for Maine in 1985, the breed is respected by many because of their ability to survive the most harsh winters there.

There are many theories about the origins of the Maine Coon, including them being descendants of Marie Antoinette’s long haired cats and also being the seafaring pet of a sailor named “Coon,” who docked in Maine in the 1700s, where they mated with local cats. Experts believe the cats are a mix of a short-haired domestic cats and long-haired cats brought to America by New England seamen and even the Vikings.
