These days, it often seems like many people have no respect for the United States military. That’s why it’s so refreshing that a little boy is becoming a viral star for saluting some servicemen in an airport.

Jace Vega is only six years-old, but he already has all of the respect in the world for those who serve in the military. His parents have taught him from a young age about all the sacrifices that those who serve make, so when he saw some military personnel at the San Antonio International Airport in Texas, Jace just had to show them how appreciative he was by saluting them. A photo of Jace saluting the servicemen was posted on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.

“Priscilla Pinales-Vega & Joe Vega sent us this photo of their son at the airport,” the image was captioned. “According to Joe, when he asked his son why he did it, his response was ‘Daddy they protect us.’ Proud moment for the parents… To know WE are teaching our children that the least they can do is show respect to the brave young men and women that serve our great nation.”

Joe added that he could not be more proud of his little boy.

“A couple of companies have reached out to us and some other people just reached out to my wife,” he said. “They want to use his picture in the airport somewhere in Florida. A couple of locally owned veteran companies who do shirts, that’s locally owned and operated, they’re going to do a couple of shirts with him.”
