Keanu Reeves is a 54 year-old Hollywood star who was best known for staring in 1990s blockbuster films like The Matrix and Speed. While his career has slowed down a bit in recent years, he has been experiencing a resurgence as of late that has just taken a surprising turn he never could have seen coming.

Fans have just created a Change.org petition demanding that Reeves be named as Time Magazine’s Person Of The Year. This is a prestigious title that has gone to people like Barack Obama, Mark Zuckerberg, and Pope Francis in past years, but fans now think that Reeves deserve it!

Created by fan Jackson Beem, the petition has gone mega-viral and at the time of this writing, it has garnered over 168,000 signatures.

“Keanu is the most wholesome person alive, make him the person of the year! Keanu has secretly donated millions of his earnings to children’s hospitals and other charities, and has done amazing things for people in public while ask for nothing in return,” the petition states.

One thing that nobody can deny is that Reeves is one of the most philanthropic celebrities in Hollywood. Not only has he started his own cancer charity, he has also worked with other charities including PETA, the SickKids Foundation, and Stand Up to Cancer. On top of that, the star has been quoted as saying, “Money is the last thing I think about. I could live on what I have already made for the next few centuries.”

It will definitely be interesting to see how far this petition can go. Your move, Time Magazine!
