Over the years, many singers have tried to cover John Lennon’s song “Imagine,” but few have been able to master it completely.  A singer auditioning for “America’s Got Talent” managed to do just that impressing both audience and judges with his heartfelt rendition.

When Christoffer “Chris” Kläfford took the stage to audition for the show, he told the judges that he hails from a small town in Sweden, and that his parents had always encouraged him to work in their family business. Despite this, Chris knew in his heart that he wanted to pursue a career in singing, and he is now trying to make his dreams of being a performer come true. As soon as he took the stage, it was clear that he was grateful just to have the opportunity to audition before the seasoned judges.

When Chris began to sing “Imagine” with only the accompaniment of his acoustic guitar, he immediately blew the judges and audience away. He managed to hit every note perfectly, capturing what makes the song beautiful while also bringing his own unique take to it. He ended up bringing the audience to tears as well as judges Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough!

After he finished his performance, the judges praised Chris, with Julianne calling what he did “art.” Even the notoriously difficult to please judge Simon Cowell described his performance as “incredible!” In the end, the only person who was surprised when he got four yesses from the judges was Chris himself, who smiled and said a humble “thank you” upon getting the news. It’s clear that he has a long career in music ahead of him, and we can’t wait to see what he does next!
