Much like humans do, dogs can form close bonds with each other and become best friends. Now, a heartwarming story is going viral that shows this in an incredibly touching way!

Hugo is a dog from St. Ann, Missouri who missed his best friends at doggy daycare so much that he ran away from home to go see them. Hugo has fled his home recently and turned up at Happy Tails Pet Hotel and Playland, and staffers there took to Facebook to say that he is a “frequent boarder” at the business.

“Meet our friend Hugo! Hugo ran away from home with only one thing on his mind… Happy Tails!” staffers said, adding that the dog was “extremely lucky,” as he crossed over a median on Lindbergh Boulevard and traveled over a mile “to see all his friends.”

“Hugo came sprinting onto our parking lot and into the front door following one of our employees!” they continued. “We are so glad Hugo wasn’t hurt and told him next time to have his dad drive him! All dad could do was laugh as he picked Hugo up!”

The story and video of Hugo has quickly gone viral, touching the hearts of people all over the globe.

“WOW! That is amazing! Sooo glad Hugo is safe. He obviously was on a mission!” one social media user commented, with another adding, “At least he knows where his home away from home is.”

“Omg and he even ran straight to the gate to go downstairs!” a third user wrote.
