People who have stains on their clothing may seem like hot messes, but new research actually says that this could actually be a sign that they have a higher IQ than the average person.

Getting stains on our clothing from food and drinks may make us feel stupid and like a little kid. We try our best to avoid these stains, but they often end up happening to the best of us.

The next time you stain your clothes, however, you should wear the stain like a badge of honor thanks to this new research! Experts say that people who have a higher intelligence use their brains differently than the average person. For example, if a highly intelligent person is drinking a glass or soda, he or she might be busy thinking about something else instead of focusing on making sure that the glass hits your lips.

Steve Johnson, the author of the study that came to this conclusion said “the more unorganized your brain is, the more intelligent you are.” This means that getting stains on your clothing is not about being clumsy. Instead, it’s about prioritizing other things in your mind that are more important than your drink.

Instead of rushing to change your clothes the next time you stain them, simply tell those around you that you had more important things on your mind than whatever you were eating or drinking. As a highly intelligent human being, you don’t have time to think about such trivial matters as eating and drinking without spilling!
