A golden retriever and the local UPS driver had become friends over the years. They had a routine that worked out quite well for the both of them. The UPS driver would stop by on his route to see the furry critter, give him a good rub down, and share a treat with him. Everything seemed fine until one of them broke the tradition.

One day the delivery driver forgot to bring a treat for his faithful friend. The dog didn’t like the change in routine so he followed the delivery truck down the road. At the driver’s next stop, the pooch jumped in the back of the truck and hitched a ride with his unsuspecting friend.

The problem was that the delivery driver didn’t know he had a stowaway. The dog rode around the neighborhood delivering packaged mail with his buddy until he was discovered. When the delivery driver discovered his hitchhiker, he proceeded to turn around and take the pooch back to his owner.

The owner then took to social media to shame his dog for his outlandish behavior. The note around his neck tells the entire hilarious story.

Apparently this dog isn’t the only pet that has snuck up on the UPS or FedEx delivery man. Several people have commented that they have pets that have done nearly the same thing. One man reported his cat jumping in with the UPS driver, not because he forgot to bring him a cookie or because they were good buddies, but rather because the cat liked people. He’d jump in anyone’s window according to the cat’s owner.

Another person reported that their goat would get in the back of delivery trucks and eat the labels off of the boxes. While the regular drivers knew of the goat’s tendencies, a substitute driver didn’t know about the goat and left the door to his truck open. The goat hopped in without the driver noticing and started munching away. The driver returned to the truck and took off on his route.

It wasn’t long before the brake lights came on, the door was raised back up, and the goat came running out of the truck! I wonder just how many labels were missing on the packages before the delivery man knew he had a stowaway?
