Angie and Gino were already the parents of two boys when they learned that they were expecting another baby, and they could not have been more thrilled. As someone who had already given birth to two babies, Angie thought she knew exactly what to expect this time around, but she could not have been more wrong.

Weeks into her pregnancy, Angie was stunned to learn that she was expecting triplets! Her situation was even more unique in that, while her unborn daughter Daniella was a fraternal triplet, daughters Camilla and Anabella were identical and shared one placenta. This made her pregnancy very risky, and doctors warned that one or both of the identical might not develop properly.

The two babies were at risk of various scary conditions, including underdeveloped lungs and brain bleeds. Doctors monitored her pregnancy closely, and soon found that Baby B was getting not enough liquid and Baby C was getting too much.

Doctors decided to move Angie into the hospital when she was 27 weeks pregnant so that they could monitor her constantly. It was difficult for her to be away from her family for so long, but Angie knew it had to be done.

“Anything could happen between now and my due date,” she said at the time.

At the 3:54 mark in the video below, Angie is wheeled into the delivery room to go into labor. As Gino says, it’s time for their “three stars” to be born. The video below is a rare glimpse at a mother giving birth to triplets.
