When Lawren Cole Galloway’s 14 year-old daughter Olivia brought home a baby from school, she had little sympathy for the teenager even though the young girl was exhausted and in tears. As a mother of four, Lawren knew what it was like to be up all night comforting a crying baby, and this just was not her problem.

Lawren made sure to get as many photos as she could of her Olivia with the infant, as she felt the teenager needed to learn her lesson about having a baby before she was ready.

Thankfully, the baby that Olivia brought home was not a real one! Lawren explained the entire situation on Facebook.

“Meet William,” she wrote. “He’s Olivia’s interactive baby assignment for her Early Childhood Education Class. Now, meet Olivia with William. She’s had him since Friday night. She is absolutely exhausted and ready to quit the class and give William back. (Maybe even throw him back).”

Lawren went on to say that the best moment came when a desperate Olivia came into her room at 3am, but she was not having any of it!

“She was crying real tears while feeding him his bottle,” the mom wrote. “She was begging me to help her because she just wanted to get some sleep. ?? Yeah, no.”

While Olivia was dealing with her fake baby, Lawren was trying to handle a 3 week-old newborn of her own!

When Sunday night rolled around, William started crying as soon as Olivia sat down to dinner.

“Long story short, Olivia had to warm her plate up 3 times,” Lawren wrote. “His feedings were taking nearly 20 minutes, he required a burp, diaper change and about 12 minutes of rocking. After a disastrous dinner, Olivia went to take a shower. She loaded William up in his car seat and took him in the bathroom with her. She finished up rather quickly and explained that she decided to take a bath instead.”

Like many new moms, Olivia quickly learned that she no longer had time for simple self-care tasks. She was even afraid to wash her hair in the shower, lest William start crying while she did so!

By the time Monday came, Olivia was very ready to give William back. Unfortunately for her, however, all of her interactions with the fake baby had been recorded, and she did not do so well.

“Olivia failed her assignment,” Lawren concluded. “Having siblings in NO way prepared her for what it might be like to have her own child. This assignment should be mandatory for both boys and girls in high school.”

The very next weekend, Olivia was given a second chance with a new fake baby named John. Most moms never get a second chance, so hopefully Olivia made this one count!
