New reports are suggesting that Prince Harry was forced to cut his longtime best friend Tom “Skippy” Inskip out of his inner circle because he had expressed disapproval of the royal marrying Meghan Markle last May.

Tatler Magazine reported that it was already known that Harry had “frozen out” members of his “old posse” like Tom, but it had been thought that he had done so because he wanted to distance himself from his former hard-partying ways. However, new reports are stating that Meghan is actually the reason that Tom was cut off by Harry.

While talking about the criticism Meghan has received since becoming a royal, the magazine stated, “Hang out with the Clooney/Beckham/Soho House set and be assailed for being too Hollywood, for forcing your hen-pecked husband to abandon his old, country-set muckers – including Tom “Skippy” Inskip, the ultra-loyal, tight-lipped Harry pal, who, it’s said, advised Harry not to marry Meghan and has paid the price: banishment.”

The publication went on to say that a rift also formed between Harry and his brother Prince William after the latter “advised [his brother] against rushing into marriage.”

Harry and Tom had been friends since they attended the elite boarding school of Eton together as children, and they were virtually inseparable for decades. Harry played a large role in Tom’s wedding to his wife Lara in 2017, and both Tom and his wife had attended the royal wedding back in May.

This comes as Meghan is preparing to welcome her first child next month, so she may be more eager than ever to separate Harry from people she perceives to be “bad influences.”
