A hospital in Maine has just been hit with a major baby boom as nine nurses in the facility’s labor unit are set to give birth within a few weeks of each other.

The nine nurses all work at Maine Medical Center, the largest hospital in the state. They took to Facebook on Monday to show off their pregnancies together. Their post quickly went viral with people commenting on the amazing coincidence of all nine nurses being pregnant at the same time, at the same hospital, and in the same labor and delivery unit.

The nurses are all due between April and July, so their babies will be within a few weeks of each other in age. The nurses have been supporting each other during their pregnancies, and they plan to be there for each delivery.

“After each one of us started to say, ‘We’re pregnant,’ I think it was a happier announcement each time, and we’re all there for each other,” said nurse Erin Grenier. “There’s been times where we’ve been the patient. So it’s been great to have each other either being our nurse or just being there for us, sending us a message, checking in on us making sure everything is okay.”

“It’s really nice coming to work and seeing other people who are just as pregnant and watching their bellies pop and just talking about these experiences that we are going through together,” said nurse Amanda Spear, with her colleague Nicole Goldberg adding, “I think that they tend to feel comforted and they also tend to find that it’s a common ground between us.”

“I don’t think it hit home until we took a picture and it was on social media and we were getting all this attention,” continued Registered Nurse Lonnie Soucie. “And then it was like, ‘Whoa, you weren’t kidding!”

The hospital has said that they are fully prepared to cover each of the nurses’ shifts when they all go on maternity leave. We would like to congratulate each of them, and we hope they all give birth to happy and healthy babies!
