Texas is an expansive state that is full of beautiful landscapes and scenery from mountains to sand dunes to rolling hills. Now, one of the state’s attraction is garnering lots of attention, and it’s not the type of place that one would expect to find in Texas.

The Hamilton Pool Reserve is just a 45 minute drive from Austin and it is located upstream from the Pedernales river. It was designated as a nature reserve by the Travis County Commissioner’s Court back in 1990, and since then, it has become a popular swimming spot.

The Hamilton Pool has become so popular that it actually requires advance reservations for visitors. If you want to go to this swimming spot, you just need to pay the $11 per vehicle fee plus an additional $15 per vehicle for entry for up to eight people, or $8 per person for bicyclists, when you arrive.

We can assure you that this oasis is worth the cost. You’ll never forget swimming in the beautiful water here! One of the highlights of this refreshing swimming hole is the gorgeous waterfall that has to be seen to be believed.

If swimming isn’t your thing, you can also hike the trails around the pool. The reserve is situated on 263 acres, so there is lots for you to explore there. The reserve also offers guided tours daily if you want to see some of the best spots it has to offer.

If you’re planning a visit to Texas anytime soon, we would definitely suggest that you check this pool out! Find out more about it in the video below.
