Simon Cowell is one of the most notoriously difficult to please judges in the world of reality television talent competitions. That’s why this father and son duo were stunned when he slammed the Golden Buzzer for them after their audition for “Britain’s Got Talent!”

Tim Goodacre is a stay-at-home dad who has always been passionate about music, and he has passed this passion along to his 12 year-old son Jack.

Tim and Jack love performing together, which is why they decided to audition for this show. When they took the stage, the two made the risky decision to perform an original song that they had written together.

When Simon asked them what the song was about, Tim fumbled a bit, so his young son stepped up to the rescue and said, “It’s about how lucky we are to have what we have.”

As soon as the duo started to sing, it was clear to everyone that they have a ton of talent! Their voices blend together perfectly, making them a joy to listen to.

The lyrics of the song are sure to bring tears to many:

“Lay your head on me
As I fall to sleep
Put your arms around mine
Stay here by my side

We’re the lucky ones
Only just begun
Others leave too young
We’re the lucky ones

Til’ your eyes can’t see
I’ll be all you need
Put your hand in mine
Stay here by my side

We’re the lucky ones
Only just begun
Others leave too young
We’re the lucky ones”

No wonder the judges were in tears by the time the song was over!

In the end, Simon loved the performance so much that he slammed the coveted Golden Buzzer for Tim and Jack, sending them straight through to the finals. Both father and son were elated to know they would go on to the next round of the competition.

Simon explained to the pair that their song made him think of his own relationship with his young son. Check out their emotional performance for yourself below!
