Fans of the reality television competition show “The Voice” know that the vast majority of people who audition are solo acts. It’s no wonder the judges and audience alike were surprised when the first trio ever to audition for the American version of “The Voice” took the stage.

Megan, Katey and Ryan Bundy are siblings who share a close bond both on and off the stage. During the premiere of season 16 of “The Voice,” the trio decided to try their luck by auditioning, and they did not disappoint!

The group decided to audition with the Indigo Girls song “Closer To The Fire,” and they chose not to sing as a trio at the beginning. One of the girls began singing alone at first, and judge Blake Shelton was so transfixed by her voice that he immediately turned around for her. Imagine his surprise when he saw a trio of singers onstage!

Next to turn around was judge Kelly Clarkson, who loved the performance so much that she got up and danced to it.

In the end, the trio was left to pick between Blake and Kelly as to who they wanted their coach to be.

“I turned around and saw a trio, and instantly, I’m like, ‘This is not what I bargained for,'” Blake said. “All of a sudden, it went from, ‘Oh no, oh God,’ to, ‘Oh yes! Oh God, yes!’ They have this country harmony, they got this family sound that you can only have with siblings. Please let me be a part of this historic journey.”

Kelly, however, was not about to back down.

“I really love harmonies,” she said. “I really feel like I can be a solid coach for you. I really love your voice. They make fun of me a lot, but when I’m passionate, I talk a lot, and you know what’s a great coach? A passionate coach!”

Though they were touched by both judges’ comments, the trio went with Kelly in the end. We would not be surprised at all if these three end up winning the competition!
