Emily Crane rescued a kitten named Rex Manning eight years ago, and at the time, she had no idea that the cat would become the most beloved animal in the neighborhood!
Most cats are anti-social and skittish around humans, but Rex is the complete opposite of that! Instead of shying away from humans, Rex loves to make friends with them so much that he often sneaks out of the house just to be around more people.
Figuring he was well liked by neighbors, Emily was happy to let Rex wander around the neighborhood as much as he wanted at first. Then, one day, Rex returned home with a note on his collar that described what the cat had really been up to!

“At a rather young age, he starting begging to go outside,” Emily explained. “I would let him out the back door and watch from my upstairs kitchen window. I think a lot of people around here are excited to see a friendly kitty.”
Rex had such a great sense of adventure that he eventually found himself in a place that most cats do not go to.

Emily had no idea what Rex was really doing out in the neighborhood until she read the note attached to his collar that day.
“Hello! This is your neighbor in the red house!” the note read. “We just wanted to let you know that Rex has developed a weird love for our bathtub + will sneak into our home to sit in it! All of us in the house are 100% okay with this because we all love Rex very much. We just want to let you know in case you were wondering where he was one of these days. he’s probably in our bathtub. The Red House.”

Emily found the note to be absolutely hilarious!
“I seriously could not stop laughing when I found the note. It was adorable,” she said.
Though she has not yet met the owners of “the red house,” she attached a note to Rex’s collar thanking them for being so hospitable.
“He is definitely a character,” Emily said. “I love how friendly Rex is with people. If they are interested, I can tell it makes their day to give a pet to a handsome, social kitty cat.”
