An 11 year-old violin prodigy has just taught the world a huge lesson about never giving up after he finished a beautiful performance backed by a grand orchestra while suffering from a nosebleed.

Christian Li was performing at the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl last week when his nose suddenly started to bleed. Though there was blood running down his face, the young violinist continued playing without missing a beat. He did not let his nosebleed impact his performance at all!

As soon as the performance was over, conductor Benjamin Northey rushed over to wipe his face with a tissue. Even the seasoned conductor was stunned by the child’s composure.

“Every now and again a concert comes up which truly has everything. Last night at the Myer Bowl with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra was such a concert,” Benjamin wrote on Facebook. “Aussie wunderkind violinist Christian Li, Calvin Bowman played Saint-Saens 3 beautifully as ever … we had blood & (sic) magic all in front of 10,000+ Melburnians who love and appreciate their music and their orchestra.”

Social media users have also been praising Christian for not giving up and staying calm.

“I wish i had of been a child prodigy so hard my nose bled… At his age i had a pretty similar experience, i think mine was caused by picking but i’ve been there all the same,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “What an incredibly talented little battler.”

Christian has been playing violin since he was 5 years-old, and he has been hailed as a prodigy pretty much ever since. In 2017, he won the top prize in the violin category at the Young Artist Semper Music International Competition in Italy, and he has performed all over the world at places like Carnegie Hall.
