Fans of Elton John are very much looking to the upcoming biopic about him called Rocketman, which is due out later this year. Earlier this week, Elton and the actor who will be playing him in the movie teamed up to wet fans’ appetites by performing a duet together.

During the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Award Viewing Party on Sunday, actor Taron Edgerton stepped onstage to join the legendary singer. The audience all was immediately excited, as they knew that Taron is playing Elton in the biopic.

Sitting at a piano, Elton proceeded to start playing his classic song “Tiny Dancer,” and the two then sang it together in an epic duet. Elton graciously let Taron sing alone for the first two minutes, letting the young star do his thing before he joined him.

Taron said at the event that getting to know Elton made playing him in Rocketman even sweeter.

“You kind of fall in love with him quite quickly, and not just because he is one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time but because he’s truly an extraordinary person,” Taron said.

Taron fully immersed himself in the role, changing his hair and overall style to reflect how Elton looked in the 1970s. He almost looks unrecognizable in the film’s trailer!

Fans can’t get enough of Elton and Taron’s duet, as it has already been viewed nearly 700,000 times.

“The young version, sounds almost like the original young version. Surely talented, and not to mention the guts this guy has to sing in front of such a legend. Respect, and infinite kudos,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “I think Taron is going to be simply amazing in Rocketman.”
