Found on the streets in San Jose when she was just two weeks old, Rosie the kitten needed all the love and attention that she could get. Her humans cuddled her and tried to get her to eat, but things weren’t looking good for little Rosie; that is until one unlikely hero stepped in to save her.

The family’s husky, Lilo, had just underwent surgery and was recovering herself. Still, when Lilo saw the kitten struggling, she welcomed the tiny creature into her fur. Lilo went on to cuddled and licked the baby kitten ever so gently. It wasn’t long before Rosie started turning around and began crying for food.

Her humans quickly prepared a bottle of milk for Rosie and she guzzled down the entire bottle. Shortly after, Rosie curled up against Lilo and took a long, cozy nap.

It was Lilo’s warmth and cuddles that encouraged Rosie to survive. The tiny baby began thriving under Lilo’s care and now the two unlikely pets are the best of friends. Lilo literally raised Rosie like she was her own baby and has become Rosie’s mentor.

The duo’s owners think that Rosie really believes she is a dog. She tries her best to keep up with her husky buddies, walks as fast as her little legs will carry her to keep up with the pack, and even wrestles with Lilo like a puppy would wrestle with their mother.

Rosie is now a happy, healthy adult cat who still loves Lilo. The two are inseparable. Their owners say that Rosie trusts entirely in Lilo and would follow her to the end of the earth. Because Lilo saved her life, Rosie and her adopted “mom” will be best friends forever.
