Jewelry designer Meghan Coomes is garnering a lot of attention these days after she turned old love letters written by her grandparents into unique pieces of jewelry.

Back in 2010, Meghan was working in the television industry in a job that required her to travel constantly. To comfort Meghan, who was feeling lonely at the time, her grandmother Agnes sent her a love letter she had written to her high school sweetheart, a soldier named Thomas, during the 1940s. Though Agnes went on to marry Thomas, the two were separated for three years while he was away fighting in World War II.

While Thomas was overseas, the two lovebirds wrote each other every day, exchanging thousands of letters and using secret codes to reveal where Thomas was. Sadly, both Thomas and Agnes have since passed away, but their words will live on forever thanks to their granddaughter.

Meghan first decided to immortalize her grandparents’ love letters by turning them into a bracelet for herself and a ring for her mother. These projects turned out so well that Meghan deciding to create an entire jewelry line using her grandparents’ love letters!

Each piece of jewelry includes a word or excerpt from one of the letters, and some of them also include letters of clients who want custom made pieces.

Some of the items of jewelry also include metal wire, colored glass, and stones.

This is such a great way to keep the memory of her grandparents alive! These are definitely pieces of jewelry that Meghan and her family will treasure for the rest of their lives.
