“Unchained Melody” has become one of the most popular song ever as it has the ability to stir up emotions in people like few other songs can. Many artists have covered the song in a variety of different ways, but singer Jonathan Jackson has been hailed as giving one of the best performances of it when he performed it at the Grand Ole Opry a few years ago.

“Unchained Melody” was first released by The Righteous Brothers in 1965, but it wasn’t until 1990 that it really took the world by storm when it was featured in the Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore movie Ghost. Many fans still associate the song with the movie to this day, and every singer who performs it puts their own spin on it. When Jonathan took the stage to sing the song, he wanted to perform it in a way that nobody else had. It’s safe to say that he accomplished this goal!

Jonathan is an actor best known for his role on the soap opera “General Hospital,” so few knew what to expect when he was invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. As soon as he opened his mouth, Jonathan’s fans were stunned to learn that he really can sing!

Video of his performance has gone mega-viral, being viewed over eight million times!
“Absolute best version I have heard since the Righteous Brothers!” one social media user commented, with another adding, “The best rendition of this song I’ve ever heard … quite simply breathtaking! Man he can sing”
“I have never seen or heard someone sing this with so much soulfulness…..I got goose bumps,” a third user commented.
