After being released from prison, it can be difficult to get back on your feet again. Aaron Tucker is a 32 year-old man who knows this all too well, as he was recently released from prison after serving 22 months on a weapons charge.
Though he had just $2 to his name, Aaron was determined to start a new life for himself and his son. Soon after his release, he climbed onboard a bus to head to a job interview that could change his life, but he never made it there. Instead, Aaron gave up on the interview and the future that it could secure for him to save a stranger’s life.
As Aaron sat on the bus, he saw an overturned vehicle ahead of them. Concerned about this, Aaron asked the driver if he was going to help the people in the car, but he replied with an emphatic “no.” He added that he would not wait for Aaron if he decided to get off the bus and investigate.
“I ran to the front of the bus, while I’m running to the front I’m asking the bus driver, ‘Are you gonna help?’ He’s like, ‘No, if you get off the bus I’m gonna leave because I got to do my job,’” Aaron said. “I seen the car smoking and before he even finished his statement, I’m already out of the bus because I’m thinking he’s gonna pass away. Something’s gonna happen. The car’s gonna catch on fire…”
Without hesitating, Aaron jumped off the bus and ran right for the overturned car. He knew that he would miss his job interview, but he also knew that saving a life was more important.
With the help of other Good Samaritans, Aaron pulled the driver out of the wreckage. Aaron then ripped off his dress shirt and tied it around the victim’s bleeding head, all the while telling him that everything was going to be alright.
Aaron stayed with the victim until EMTs arrived and rushed him to the hospital. The young father then returned home to say a prayer for him.
Word of Aaron’s good deed quickly spread, and when Karin Dale heard about it, she knew she had to help him. She set up a GoFundMe page for him, and then something happened that Aaron never could have imagined! Find out how this good deed changed Aaron’s life forever below.
“Good things started happening,” Aaron said afterwards. “I never knew people to be so nice.”
