When Prince Harry recently visited Melbourne, Australia with his new wife Meghan Markle, fans of the royals were absolutely thrilled. Few were more excited than 19 year-old Marysville-native India Brown, who camped out for seven hours just in the hopes that she would catch a glimpse of the royals.

India’s efforts paid off in a big way when she managed to get a spot as close to the barrier as possible, and when Harry walked by, he shocked everyone by breaking royal protocol to give India a hug!

India had just been hoping to catch a glimpse of Harry and Meghan, so getting a hug from the prince was more than she ever could have dreamed of.

Harry saw India right away because not only was she one of the loudest person there, she was also holding a sign that read, “We’ve been here since 4 am! Loved u since I was 8!!!”

Harry seemed touched by the sweet sign that he just had to break royal rules by stopping to give the young girl a hug. Afterwards, reporters swarmed India to ask her what Harry had said to her.

“He is someone I have looked up to for many many years,” India explained. “Everything he stands for is amazing. I’ve loved that family since I was eight and I’ve followed them around the world.”

India went on to say that when Harry hugged her, he said eight words that made her feel very special indeed.

“He just said: ‘You are going to get me into trouble,'” she recalled. “It was just such an opportunity, and I just went for it. I didn’t expect it to happen because it’s actually against protocol. He reciprocated the hug too. It was awesome.”

Describing herself as an “avid monarchist,” India added that Harry’s hugs are “the best ever.”

“There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be here today,” she said. “I’ve always had a rich passion for everything the royals stand for.”

Prince Harry definitely made this young girl’s dreams come true and the experience is one she will likely never forget!
