Did you know that studies show seniors with pets often are healthier and happier? Pets often helps increase physical routine, boosts the immune system and prevents feelings of isolation and depression in the elderly. That’s why it’s so important that we cherish our furry friends and take care of them as they bring so much good into our daily lives.

It’s no secret then that a man’s best friend is his dog. They are also absolutely loyal and loving animals who’s natural instinct is to protect their owners at all costs.  It’s amazing however, when we witness how loving and protective dog owners are with their pets. 

A tender moment was caught on video at Davao City’s Agdao Market in the Philippines, when an older gentleman showed how protective he was with his dog.

With his patient dog sitting still in the man’s bicycle basket wrapped with a blue plastic cover, the elderly man carefully places a straw hat on his dog for extra protection from the rain before taking off on his bike with his best friend in tow.  How sweet is that?!

The video of this touching moment has already garnered lots of attention and reminds us to love our pets through rain or shine!
